Match number 33 of the ODI World Cup between India and Sri Lanka took place at the famous Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, India.
Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first, setting the stage for an exciting stage.
First Innings
The Indian team had a rough start as the in-form captain Rohit Sharma got out early, scoring just 4 runs off 2 balls and getting bowled by a beautiful delivery from Madushanka. But they quickly recovered thanks to the batting. Shubman Gill played exceptionally well, scoring 92 runs off 92 balls.
Virat Kohli took charge of the innings, showing his class and determination scoring 88 runs off 94 balls but unfortunately missed his century again. Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant innings, scoring 82 runs in just 56 balls. Ravindra Jadeja provided a late boost to the innings scoring 35 runs off 24 balls, With all these combined efforts India managed to score 357/8 in 50 overs.

In the bowling department D. Chameera took 1 wicket for Sri Lanka but it was Madushanka who impressed the most, taking a 5-wicket haul.
Second Innings
India started beautifully with the ball as Bumrah took a wicket on the first ball of the innings. Muhammad Siraj added spice by taking 2 wickets in the 2nd over of the innings. Later, Muhammad Shami also joined the show and took 2 consecutive wickets in the 10th over of the innings, Sri Lanka was 14/6 after the first 10 overs.
From the Sri Lankan side, Angelo Matthews scored 12 runs off 25 balls and K Rajitha scored 14 runs in 17 balls. Sri Lanka managed to score 55/10 in 19.4 overs.
Indian bowlers performed extremely well, Mohammad Shami took 5 wickets, Mohammad Siraj took 3 wickets, and Bumrah took 1 wicket. With this tremendous bowling, India won by 302 runs.
The Indian bowlers including Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj, and Bumrah delivered spectacular performances in the second innings, dominating the Sri Lankan batting order.
