The ODI World Cup 2023 witnessed a great clash between Pakistan vs Bangladesh in match 31 out of 45 matches. The match was held in Eden Gardens, Kolkata, India. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first.
Bowling Brilliance from Shaheen Shah Afridi
The match didn’t start the way Bangladeshi wanted, Shaheen Shah Afridi, master of new ball started with a wicket in his first over. He completed his 100th ODI wicket in 51 ODIs and became the fastest pacer to claim this achievement.
Shaheen Shah Afridi was not done there, in his second over he continued to haunt the Bangladeshi batsmans, a promising batsman became his second victim. Shaheen’s ability to swing the ball and generate pace was on full display.
Despite the Early wickets, Bangladesh didn’t give in easily. Litton Das scored 45 off 64 balls and his friend batter also added 56 off 70 balls. The experienced captain Shakib al Hasan also played a vital role and scored 43 runs off 64 balls.
The Bangladeshi innings concluded on 205/10 45.1 overs. From Pakistan’s side, both Shaheen and Wasim Jr took 3 wickets and Haris contributed with 2 wickets.
In the second innings, both the openers of Pakistan Zaman and Abdullah Shafique started very beautifully and dominantly. Fakhar Zaman scored 81 off 74 balls with 7 sixes in his brilliant innings and Abdullah Shafique scored 68 off 69 balls.

The finishing touches were given by Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Rizwan, and Pakistan achieved their target in 32.3 overs. With much-needed Victory Pakistan won this match and continued their journey in this World Cup.
