SUMMERSLAM LOCATION REVEALED

This summer, WWE SummerSlam will take place in Detroit, Michigan. Ford Field, where the Detroit Lions of the National Football League play, will host the event on Saturday, August 5. There are approximately 65,000 seats in the stadium.

Even though the 1993 edition of SummerSlam was held in the Detroit area (Auburn Hills, MI), this will be the first time that the city has hosted the event.

After Allegiant Stadium (Paradise, NV) in 2021 and Nissan Stadium (Nashville, TN) last year, SummerSlam will be held in a football stadium for the third time this year.

In 2007, WrestleMania 23 took place at Ford Field. One of the company’s biggest box office hits was that event, which featured the infamous Battle of the Billionaires between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump.

WrestleMania’s stadium’s era began with that event, which was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of WrestleMania III, the megaevent that brought a reported 93,173 fans to the Pontiac Silverdome and elevated the then-WWF to a new level of popularity. Since then, the event has been held in football venues, except for the 2020 event that was affected by the pandemic.

WWE.com reported that the marquee event’s ticket sales begin on April 14.

One of the most important WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) pay-per-view events is SummerSlam. Each year in August, it occurs.

Since its inception in 1988, SummerSlam has been held in a variety of locations across North America.

SummerSlam is known for having high-stakes matches and storylines. Some memorable SummerSlam matches include Stone Cold Steve Austin’s match with Owen Hart in 1997, The Undertaker’s match with Brock Lesnar in 2015, and John Cena’s match with Daniel Bryan in 2013

Along with Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and Survivor Series, SummerSlam is one of WWE’s “Big Four” pay-per-views.

Peacock will also live stream the event.

SummerSlam is already a pretty big deal on its own. When Detroit is added, as well as a stadium component, it suddenly becomes a very significant event. After that, everyone becomes even more excited about it, and the cycle repeats itself from fans to performers and back again. Therefore, the closer you get, the more intense the energy becomes.

After WWE’s flagship annual event, WrestleMania, SummerSlam is the second-largest WWE event. WrestleMania this year will take place at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium over two nights on April 1 and 2.

As reported 48,449 people attended the SummerSlam in Nashville’s Nissan Stadium Last year, while 51,326 people attended the event in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium the year before.
